B's Altered Tees originated in a college dorm room, where old band T-shirts were cut and altered, and some shirts were sewn onto the back of thrifted flannels. I would unofficially sell my pieces at music festivals to cover ticket costs. I eventually made an Etsy account to make a little extra cash and I gave it the name ‘BeesAlteredTees’. Sixteen years later, the brand continues under the original shop name, combining a passion for sewing, music, slow fashion, and nature to officially create B's Altered Tees.
Today at B's Altered Tees, my focus goes beyond just T-shirts. I specialize in reworking vintage or thrifted high-quality jackets, flannels, overalls, and various other apparel. By creating handmade patches and using embroidery techniques, I am able to transform old pieces into new, unique garments.
I am excited to also feature some unique pieces of jewelry made by my mom, Jana! She works with primarily 14k gold, sterling silver, and gem stones. All of the jewelry she makes is designed to endure a busy and active lifestyle. I wear several of her necklaces and bracelets 24/7 while I exercise, shower, work in the Emergency Department, run my dog, everything. They look brand new everyday and I never take them off. Check out her website, www.designsbyjana.org for more pieces and more photos of the ones that I feature.
